To access these workouts, do your member login. If you have not done this, create a username and password and you will be good to go. If you do not wish to purchase a membership at this time, select "no thank you" and create a member profile. Once logged in, the Main Menu will have an option "Curriculum and Erg Training." When you click this, you will see workouts briefly described. Clicking on a workout will open up the full information. It will be important for you to open up the first choice "Rowing Format...." so that you can understand the format of each workout as well as the intensity guide used. Train on!!
In February 2011 USRowing This Month, Charlotte Hollings of Calm Waters Rowing penned an article on using the erg for workouts. Her statement is SO true, "From my experience, the biggest mistake people make with the erg is that they only, or mostly, use it for testing and hard interval training. The erg becomes a painful experience and we learn to dislike it, often to the point of being afraid of it." If you use the workouts suggested on our website, you will avoid this torture mode and get training in all the energy systems of the body.
